A Trace of Memory was first published by Berkley in 1963. The image above shows the Paperback Library/Warner edition from September 1972. When Tor published their paperback edition in 1984 (shown below), they stuck with Marvin for the cover typography, but took it a notch further: The hyper-extended glyphs play up the typeface’s nature of plain curves and straights, and fit Marvin to a T.
