Silver Easel (Срібний Мольберт) is an all-Ukrainian student art contest initiated by Robert and Nataliia Brovdi. It was first held in Uzhhorod from 18 to 22 October 2016. The accompanying catalogue was created by the public organization Transcarpathian Art Foundation and published by the Kyiv-based publishing house HUSS in two editions, in Ukrainian and English. On 302 pages, the publication contains background information and a detailed photo report on the contest (245 illustrations), as well as information on the jury members and 44 participants. It shows reproductions of all creative works created by the participants within three contest stages: “Cityscape,” “Landscape,” “Portrait.” The book is addressed at students and teachers of art educational institutions, art experts and all lovers of modern Ukrainian painting. One of the first to receive the catalogue were the participants and jury members, as well as 22 higher educational institutions of the 13 regions of Ukraine, which delegated their students to Silver Easel 2016. Moreover, the publication was presented to the scientific, public and children’s libraries of Transcarpathia, as well as museums, galleries, art schools, creative unions of the region.
