A Victorian-era calling card for “Mr. E. H. White” along with his photograph, which looks like it may have been copied from a Carte de Visite. For similar cards, see my album of Calling Cards with Photographs. — Alan Mays

Centennial Script was designed by Herman Ihlenburg for MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan in 1874 and patented by Peter A. Jordan in 1875. The date of release may be 1876 because it is said to be released in celebration of the centennial (hence the name) of American independence. It was revived by Rebecca Alaccari for Canada Type in 2007. The ornamental caps were revived by Intellecta as Centennial Script Fancy in 2009.
