Games Mother Never Taught You – Betty Lehan Harragan (Warner Books paperbacks)
For my daughter Kathleen who will enter the workforce in the mid-1980’s prepared to accept nothing less than fully vested citizenship in the American economy.
Games Mother Never Taught You. Corporate Gamesmanship for Women was written
by Betty Lehan Harragan and first published by Rawson Associates in 1977 (with a cover using ITC Souvenir with swashes). From 1978 to 1998, “more than one million copies have been published in paperback by Warner Books”, according to the New York Times.
Apparently the publisher couldn’t quite decide which color scheme was appropriate for the topic. There are at least four different versions. Several of them are available for borrowing from the Internet Archive. The font used for the title and the author’s name stays the same: It’s ITC Bookman (Ed Benguiat, 1975). For once, all the swash forms and alternates are included in the digital version, at least in ITC’s version of the Demi Bold.
